Massage Therapy

We tailor your massage to meet your needs. Your massage session will use techniques pulled from the following modalities:

Deep tissue: Deep tissue massage is directed to the deep muscles and fascia (connective tissue) of the body. The goal of this type of massage is to loosen up the connective tissues and muscles that lie deep within the body in order to promote healing. A deep tissue massage can leave you with a feeling of soreness afterward; drinking lots of water can help mitigate this effect.

Relaxing/Swedish: The Swedish massage is the most common type of massage. The goals for this type of massage are complete and utter blissful relaxation, improved circulation, and decreased stress and tension within the body. Side effects of this type of massage are sleepiness, and a lack of focus, sometimes referred to as "massage brain."

Lymphatic: Sometimes referred to as lymph drainage massage, this type of massage is done in a circular motion with a slow rhythm. This light touch is applied where there is an excess of fluid within the tissues of the body. Lymphatic massage facilitates the movement of fluid out of the tissue, into the lymph system, and out of the body. We do not currently offer a full body lymphatic drainage massage, but we do apply this technique to localized areas to decrease swelling and edematous areas.

Sports: This massage uses a combination of deep pressure and stretching to help you with your training needs. Regular sports massage helps you train harder and experience fewer injuries. This type of massage should be used as a part of your recovery regimen.

Aromatherapy: This ancient therapy is used to elevate mood and improve overall health and well-being. Aromatherapy has many benefits, including relaxation, pain relief, congestion relief, invigoration, and stimulation; it even has some healing properties. We use all-natural oils throughout to enhance your experiences.

Additional Services

Hot stones: Smooth, hot stones are used to relax the body and simulate deep pressure without having to provide deep pressure. People find it very relaxing and it is great for people who are always cold. The stones are heated to 135 degrees for your comfort and then cooled enough to be able to set them on the body comfortably. This is the most popular additional service we provide.

Cupping: Cupping is the opposite of applying pressure to the body; cups create a vacuum and separate the tissues of the body in order to release stagnant blood and lymph fluid. As a consequence, the body is able to flush out those liquids, bring in new oxygen and nutrients, and promote healing and detox. The silicone cups allow us to adjust the amount of suction that is applied. Cupping leaves pink, red and purple spots; this effect varies with each client depending on how stagnant the fluids within the tissues of your body are.
